brendan freeman

Brendan Freeman is the Pogue Vineyard winemaker with two decades of hands on experience making premium Central Victorian wines.


Initially studying Food Technology he followed his passion for wine and worked full time whilst studying after hours and Brendan received his Bachelor of Applied Science (Wine Science) from Charles Sturt University in 2006.
 

He has extensive experience at McPherson Wines and the Tahbilk Winery and in 2016 Brendan travelled to the Willamette Valley in Oregon USA for a harvest making premium Pinot Noir. He is now responsible for the organic certification and has overseen the transition towards vegan production.
 

Away from the winery Brendan is an active father of two and enjoys tending to his small olive grove overlooking the Trawool valley.

LACHIE THOMAS

Lachie Thomas manages the Organic Certification for Pogue Vineyard. Studying ecology at university and gaining wide experience in the agricultural sector led him into the incredible world of viticulture.

With his background in biology and the complex systems thinking of ecology, organic viticulture is a great expression of Lachie’s passions. Working closely with the vineyard team, they are working together to continue fostering strong and resilient ecosystem. This wholistic approach is aimed at improving their soils, creating healthier vines, and producing high quality grapes that express the best qualities of the Goulbourn Valley.
